Parkland burn formula + rule of 9s

Initial burn fluid resuscitation. Titrate to UO 0.5-1 mL/kg/hr. Modern guidance recommends modified Brooke (2 mL × kg × %TBSA) when over-resuscitation is a concern.

Formula

Parkland: 4 mL × kg × %TBSA = total LR over 24h
Give half in first 8h (from injury, not from arrival)
Give remaining half over next 16h

Rule of 9s (adult):
  Head + neck: 9%
  Each arm: 9%
  Anterior trunk: 18%
  Posterior trunk: 18%
  Each leg: 18%
  Perineum: 1%
