Running case log of anesthetics provided — required for some hospital privileging + MAC Ed (Class A) practice evidence. Track type of anesthetic, ASA class, complications. Submit quarterly.
Cumulative case totals by type (general, regional, MAC), ASA class breakdown, subspecialty exposure. Useful for credentialing applications + locum recruiters.
MAC Ed (assessed) credits — accredited CE in airway, pharmacology, applied physics, anatomy/physiology, emerging technology, professional issues. NBCRNA requires 60 MAC Ed credits per 4-year cycle (replaces the legacy CPC Class A category).
MAC Dev credits — non-assessed CE: in-services, journal reading, practice/research activities. NBCRNA allows up to 40 MAC Dev credits per 4-year cycle (replaces the legacy CPC Class B category).
Required MAC core module assessments — airway, applied clinical pharmacology, human physiology + pathophysiology, anesthesia equipment + technology. One per cycle (carried forward unchanged from CPC under the MAC program).
MAC Check is the ongoing online longitudinal assessment that replaces the legacy 8-year CPCA proctored exam. Quarterly question delivery throughout the 4-year cycle. CRNAs renewing 6/30/2026–12/31/2027 are on the Modified MAC Check (5-quarter ramp).
Active AANA membership. Required for some CE provider access and program eligibility.
Conference attendance, online module completions, in-person workshops, journal CME — anything that counts toward MAC (formerly CPC).
